Why Church? Part 3

The Fellowship of the Believers.

This is one more verse often quoted by pastors to answer the question “why church?”

Read verses 42 and 43. Do you see they came together broke the bread, prayed together and they devoted to apostle’s teaching.

Do you see that? That is why we need church and we need pastors, apostles to teach and people should be devoted to their teaching.

Do not get me wrong. This is the logic the pastors say.

Oh you hypocrites. Why do you not read further? See, the believers sold their processions, belongings and distributed to all.

You want to be like the first century church. Let us do that too. Sell your home ,everything and give away and we shall all live in fellowship.

Now Pastors will back off saying. The early church did in Jerusalem. But when Paul and other apostles went out they did not instruct other churches to do the same.

If you take one thing and omit other thingy who are you? or you not hypocrites? Either say these verses is for all or say this verses tell what believers did and is not an instruction for the church.

Oh my dear children. Understand this, you can not live like the first century Christians. And you are not expected to follow them.You are expected to follow Jesus.

Let us understand first century Christians.

1. They did not have printing press.
2. 60-80% people did not know to read or write.
3. They would have only copy of the letter sent by the apostles.

So they have to come together and read it in a common place. And someone who is educated will read it.

So there was need to read the Bible and hold sermon in the centuries before.

Now,

1. In western world at least the literary rate 98%.If you are reading this message.
2. You are able to read.Printing press was invented by guttenberg 500 years ago.
3. You have the entire Bible sitting your home.
4. Even now, the device, you hold in your hand has Bible.

So, you are without excuse. Do you  still think that you need someone to read Bible for you?

Are you so dumb? Or have the pastors fooled you in thinking that you need them to teach you?

Dear children, you have only one Teacher. The teacher is the Holy Spirit. He inspired the Word and He will teach you the Word. Rely on Jesus only.

Do not elevate pastors. You do not need a tribe or a worship club. You need HIM and HIS desire is you more than what you can do.

HIS desire is you, my loving children. Spend time with the Word.

Let the Word speak to you.
