1 Corinthians 14:26

Does it verse support church?

Do you remember the open challange from day before yesterday to show a verse that say Bible calls you to go to church?

One of the answer was this verse.

Look at the verse. It says ‘when you come together’

It doesn’t say ‘if you come together’.

Implying that the Word is expecting you to come together.

Ofcourse. That is so wonderful. You should always submit to the Word. Yes, I do.

Let’s keep reading the verse, ‘each one has a hymn, a lesson,’

‘each one’

I went to greek to see if that is what the Bible meant.

Original: ἕκαστος
Phonetic: hek’-as-tos
Meaning: each, every

When you come together everyone is expected to sing, instruct, have revelation.

I mean everyone speaks.

But what we see in church of today. One man speaks and 400 bow their head and listen to that one man.

Not everyone is given the opportunity to speak every day. But Bible says each of you shall have a hymn, a revelation a lesson.

Now, the opposite arguement would be. We have 200 -300 members. We can not let everyone speak every day.

Yes, exactly the point. Why do you have 200-300? If you have a group of 10 or 40 you would have that interactive coming together.

But there is no money if I have only 10. If 100 or 400 or 4000, (I the pastor) can make more money. You understand, as a pastor i care about my ego, how big a church i have, how many sheeps I have. I do not care about you are learning anything.

I want people who will nod on sunday. If I let you speak. If I let ask questions. I lose my control.

But Bible says, each of you shall have a lesson. Not that single man. Today churches are build around one man. Guess who it is? It is not Jesus. It is built around and on the charisma of the pastor.

Do not shut me down. How many churches do you know, that the son of the pastor becomes the next junior pastor. Is it not nepotism. The pastor has built his own kingdom, ofcourse he will pass his kingdom to his son. Simple.

Come together as long as each one of you have something to say. Do not look upto any man.

There is so much more to say, so many verses to read regarding this.

I will only point you the verse. It is you that shall read and the Holyspirit will guide, teach you.

Be blessed my friends. If I had offended you. That is good. Ask if this could be true? Rebuke me if I am wrong? I will learn too. I am not saying I know all answers.

But that won’t stop me from asking.

Everyone of you reading this. Go ask your pastor, why church?

It is a basic humanistic need to belong to a tribe. Remember this word ‘tribe’.

Go back to the verse 1 Corinthians 14:26, read the context. Meditate on it. Answer me back, we have plenty more verses to read.

Be blessed my friends in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
