What we have? – Part 3

2 Corinthians 3:18
2 Corinthians 3:7

Father, help me speak your Word, Father. Help us understand. You speak Father. We listen.

Yesterday, we saw, that you are greater than Moses.

John the Baptist is greater than Moses. Anyone least in kingdom of God is greater than John.

So you who are in the kingdom of God are greater than Moses.

How?

Let’s go back to Exodus.

Exodus 33:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.

It is this Moses, who spoke to LORD face to face, that the Word is saying, we are greater.

Read again diligently. This is important.

Exodus 34:29-30 New International Version (NIV)

The Radiant Face of Moses

29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. 30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.

Exodus 34:33 New International Version (NIV)

33 When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.

Moses’ face became radiant because, he spoke (spend time) with LORd. Because of it Isrealites were afraid. So Moses put a viel on his face, to hide.

Now, I did say according to Luke 7:28, the Word says we are greater than Moses.

That is astonishing. Let Word explain it to you.

Turn to 2 Corinthians 3

2 Corinthians 3:6-18 New International Version (NIV)

6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The Greater Glory of the New Covenant

7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9 If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11 And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Footnotes:
2 Corinthians 3:18 Or reflect

There is so much to learn in this passage. Read it slowly. Meditate on the Word.

The Word is commenting on itself. I can not comment any further. Read the passage again and again.

Write down, share in the comments, that you understand.

Be blessed in Jesus mighty Name.

Amen
