Luke 6:19 NIV
Acts 1:8
Acts 3:6

Luke 6:19, you read in King James it says

went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

Now is the Greek word for virtue used here. It is important to know.

So let’s see the greek word.

Original: δύναμις
Transliteration: dunamis

Dunamis. G1411 This word is used in Acts 1:8

Let’s read Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:

See the word power in the verse.

Guess what is the Greek word used for power

Original: δύναμις
Transliteration: dunamis

Dunamis

We can read as, ye shall receive dunamis after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:

The same dunamis that went from Jesus to heal them all.

The dunamis you shall receive.

Now wait a minute. Let’s jump to Acts 3.

Acts 3:6-9 New International Version (NIV)

6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk.

Oh did you what happened. Peter did not pray for the sick person. He said something. He said, “what I do have I give you”

How can peter say that? What does peter have? He did not pray. He said he give what he have.

Ohhhh…. is Peter wrong, arrogant?

Nope, nope, he knew what he had received.

What did Peter have?

The very thing Jesus promised in Acts 1:8. When did Peter receive it? Acts 2:4

Acts 2:4 New International Version (NIV)

4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Now the biggest question is. If we have received the same Holy Spirit, why doesn’t our shadow heal the sick as Peter’s did. Why don’t we speak in authority, as Peter did?

Answer is: Peter knew. Do you know?

Know what?

The virtue of Holy Spirit that you received.

Jesus is my Lord, my reedemer. Amen
