What is sin? – Part 1
What is sin?
“Sin is to miss the mark” many would say. Sin is to miss the standard of God.
Have you ever had a logical question?
How can one man’s death on cross can take away the sin of billions of people?
How can it be? It makes no sense, right?
Was the cross invented for Jesus? Nope, so many people have been crucified on the cross. It is a Roman invention of death.
So what is the logic of Jesus’s death?
How can one innocent man’s death be adornment for so many people over many years? No logic, no sense, I asked this question.
Can anyone answer that?
Jesus is God, so God dying on the cross, taking away the sin. If God can take away sin, He can take it away, with one word, like Jesus says in Matthew 9:2 your sins are forgiven.
God spoke the world into existence, is He not able to speak forgiveness?
Where is the logic?
Some say, faith needs no logic? I disagree, faith is very logical and Bible has all the answers.
So where is the answer?
Wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23
How can one man’s death remove the sin of many?
One man’s death can remove one man’s sin. Now that is the just judgement.
That is exactly what happened.
Sin entered the world through one man, Adam.
One man’s, Adam’s sin. One man, Jesus died.
That is what happened. Sin came through Adam, sin was dealt with, removed through Jesus, the second Adam.
“Oh Chandru, don’t make things up. Why are you teaching like this?”
Children, what can I say. I speak from
Romans 5:12-14 English Standard Version (ESV)
Death in Adam, Life in Christ
12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men[a] because all sinned— 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.
I told you Bible is logical. Now,
1 Corinthians 15:21-23 New International Version (NIV)
21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
Oh did I tell you, Jesus dying on the cross was not the end of the story. HE rose again, HIS resurrection is the beginning, that we are risen with HIM.
If wages of sin is death, and the sin entered the world through one man and was that sin was nailed to the cross by the death of one man and the life had come through the resurrection of that one man who died on the cross. Why are you sin conscious?
Hebrews 10:12-14 English Standard Version (ESV)
12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
One man, one sin, One man Jesus, One priest, one scarifise, once for all.
I know children, this is much to take in.
