What about the law?

Romans 5:12-13 ESV

This is for those, who use, the fear of judgement and sin has a motivation to be holy.

Do not listen to me.

I rather than day the answers, let me raise the questions. You ask God to answer. Pray….

Romans 5:12-13 English Standard Version (ESV)

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men[a] because all sinned— 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.

What does the verse say?

We skim over Bible. Take your time.

What does the verse say?

Sin came through one man, Adam. So death spread to all.

Verse 13…

From Adam till Moses ( for through Moses did law come), so from the time of Adam to Moses, the sin was in the world, but the sin was not counted to the people who did it.

Oh this will send shock waves in your brain.

Wait, I will show you.

Leviticus 18:9 English Standard Version (ESV)

9 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether brought up in the family or in another home.

Leviticus 18:11 English Standard Version (ESV)

11 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, brought up in your father’s family, since she is your sister.

Such a man should be put to death. It is the law given to Moses.

Guess what, Abraham your father in faith married his step sister.

Damn, he should have been put to death. God did not impute the sin to Abram, why?

Romans 5:13

Romans 5:13 Amplified Bible (AMP)

13 Sin was [committed] in the world before the Law [was given], but sin is not charged [against anyone] when there is no law [against it].

I understand your struggle to wrestle with this Scripture.

For 2500 years from Adam till Moses, there was no law. Sin was in the world but was not imputed because there was no law.

For 1500 years from the time of Moses till Jesus, sin reigned through law.

2000 years from the time of Jesus, the grace, the new wine is poured in the new wineskin.

So there was time, there was no law.

And then was law.

And now, the law, old wine and old wineskin is fulfilled and dealt with 2000 years ago.

Law demanded man do certain things and not do. The mankind owed to keep the law.

Let’s say you owe your bank 10 million dollars (law). But you are bankrupt, you can not pay.

You are worried. Your Aunt Susan, hears about your misfortune.

Aunt Susan, goes to the bank and pays the 10 million dollars on your behalf (the cross)

The dept is fully paid.

Now after 2 months, the bank calls you and asks you to pay 10 million dollars.

What would you do? Would you pay ? Nope.. you will sue the bank. Because your debt is paid in full.

The bank (law) has no right to demand anything from you. Period.

Here is the twist in the plot.

Now, you are a free man. And you say, finally I am free.

Are you?…….

🤔

Nope….

You don’t owe to the bank (law). But that is the end of the story.

Now, you owe to your Aunt Susan. Your life is not yours, your freedom is not yours, your life now belongs to Aunt Susan (Jesus).

Because you were bought at a price.

So, you are free from law, but your life belongs to JESUS.

You see the shift in the motivation, you see the shift in the contract.

The contract written between you and the bank is torn down. But a new bond, a contract of love is written not in paper but in your heart between you and Aunt Susan.

Listen to you Aunt… Do what she says…

Be blessed my children
