Financial Teaching – Serve God
Proverbs 22:7 NIV
The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender.
King James Version
The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Psalms 31:21 KJV
The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Aleast NIV translates as borrower is servant to the lender. King James Version calls borrower as slave.
When you look at the Hebrew word both the meaning is correct.
We saw borrowing is a curse. Deuteronomy 28. And Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law.
If you had borrowed and still have to pay. It is ok. We are all in the process of learning. Now that you know this. This is will stop you from borrowing. Don’t buy stuff on EMI. Monthly payment. It is also a loan. When you are signing the contract. You are signing the contract of servanthood. If you are a servant of God, and you are bought at a price with the blood of Christ. How can you sell yourself again in from borrowing?
I understand, we were not born in Jewish background, we didn’t know the Word before. Now that you know. You can stop.
So what about the loans that you have already taken. Psalm 37:21 you are not wicked but called righteous. So you pay them back.
How do you do that?
First I want you to think in terms of Net Value and not in term of monthly income.
What is Net Value?
