Overcoming temptation, the easy way. “for it is written”

I was talking to my house-owner. He is a spiritual guy. We talk about faith.

He kept talking about temptation. I said “Why do you care about temptation?

It is easy to overcome.”

He was surprised. I had to take him to Luke 4. The temptation of Jesus.

Please open your Bible. Go to Luke 4.

Jesus led by the Spirit, is in wilderness, fasting and devil tempts Him. 🙂 funny

How does Jesus answer?

“for it is written” and He quotes the scriptures.

That’s all. Easy. Devil will speak and cause doubt. Your doctors report will talk to, you saying , you have sugar.

How do you respond?, “for it is written in 1 Peter 2:24,  “by his wounds you have been healed.” “

That’s it. You killed the temptation. The manifestation, yes fallows.

Your bank account might talk, “there are bills to pay”
Talk back,
“Get behind satan, I rebuke you, for it is written, 19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19.

“I am blessed as Abraham is. Galatians 3:14, and the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Psalms 35:27

My Lord has pleasure in my prosperty.”

If Jesus, Himself used the Word as weapon against the devil. So should you.

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit,

Hebrews 4:12 NIV

If Jesus, Himself used the Word as weapon and started with “for it is written”, so should you, quote the Word.

Hmmm…. To do that, you need to know the Scriptures, right?

Exactly.

So spend time in the Word. The Word of Jesus Christ. Hold on to it, in your heart.

    By guarding it according to your word.

Simple, see I told you, it is easy. Only one step. Spend time in the Word. Guard your way according to the way.
