Luke 14:26 NIV

“If anyone come to me and does not hate”

Sometimes we skim through Bible. Stop for moment and think.

Why is Jesus using a the word hate? Meaning dis-own.

Unless you dis-own your family, you can not be his disciples.

Wait, Jesus always pushes the boundary.

Unless you dis-own yourself, your own life, you can not be disciples.

Watch, Peter was a fisherman. He was doing his job. Jesus said He will make you Fisher of men. Peter dropped everything and went.

Luke was a tax collector. Good money, high paying job. Jesus said follow me. He gave up his job, his title and followed Him.

What are you going to dis-own? Can you?

Can you dis-own you? Can lay done the love you have yourself?

Some people say, I do not love my daughter, my son more than I love myself. I do not have self-love.

Really?

Why do you love your daughter?

Because, she is your blood.

Highlight the word ‘YOUR’ blood.

Selfish, self-love.

My life, my family, my friends, my job, my title.

I, my, me.

Dis-own your own life. I want you to die. ‘I’ should die, so ‘He could live’

That is the Cross, that is the baptism. Please die today. 🙂

I am not talking about physical death though.

And be blessed…
