A mere breath…? What my children teach me?
What is man? a mere breath. These verses might seem bleak… but the most awesome statements.
Let us shift gears… I am going with my wife to a restaurant. A wonderful place. A beautiful evening. We have ordered food. The restaurant is mildly lit. People are waiting for reservations. Across from our table are 2 girls. One looks beautiful, attractive and the other is ugly. What do I do? I start talking to my wife about these girls, say one looks rude mean and she is ugly too and on the other, I say she is beautiful she is attractive and behaves in a class, and talk about the girls
What kind of a man do you think I am?
You should have felt anger. Because what kind of filthy man I should be. I am with my wife in a restaurant. I should have looked into my wife and should be listening and talking to her about her?
Am I right?
I know every girl in here would agree.
Hmmm, you are right and exactly that is the point…
When I have God in front of me, why do I look into the world or the works of the devil or antichrist and talk about it? I will look at my Jesus and forget everything else lost in His eyes.
I want you to get romantic here. How many have had the first love?
Do you remember the first date? You were there and looking into her eyes, the world seems nonexistent? Have you felt that…
Get back to that first love… I am not talking about your mate… I am talking about your first love for God. Revelation 2:4
Why would you look into the world and the works of antichrist?
Now you might ask, “am I supposed to close the eyes to the works of the devil and not look into the world? I should be ready when the end of days come?”
Hmmm… lets us go back to the restaurant scene. You might have seen this scene many times in action films. A hero is sitting with his kid. The enemies are surrounding him and waiting to attack him. Hero buys food and is entertaining the kid but simultaneously watching over the enemies. The kid is having meal and enjoying his time with the hero. The hero is having fun and looking around. Now a side question… Who is looking around? The Hero… and not the kid.
And finally, they come out and villains surround the kid and hero. Hero smashes them and takes the kid in the car… How many have seen a scene like this?
Raise your hands if you had seen a scene like this.
My point is this. I am the kid and I am with a Super Hero. The Hero of them all. The Super, the awesome. JESUS, my Hero, my daddy. What do I care about? My daddy will keep me safe. He crushed the enemy. It is His job to look and keep me safe, not mine. I will have good time in spite of having enemies around me.
Did you get the last statement? I said I will have good time in spite of having enemies around me. Does it ring a bell for you?
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Psalm 23:5
That is the very reason David sings about my Dad.
I love a lot, my children because they teach me to love God like them. Learn from your children.
Herein the key to peace…
Isaiah 26:3
3 You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Now that you know you are but a breath, a moment in this world. When you know that our life is eternal with Him. Look only unto your daddy because He is eternal. Jesus.. my Dad my Father my only hope. My everything…
Pray with me. Father, forgive me for looking outside of You, help me not to look to the left or right, but unto Your face, Your countenance, Your presence and in there is my victory, because You are my Hero, You are my Daddy, I love you, Jesus, I love you, Father.
In Jesus mighty name we all said Amen.
