Case for believing Demons… (mockery) – Part 1

Why am I writing stuff?

It is not provide with answers, but to stir up right questions.

Why do that?

S.O.L.E

I think it is the best form of learning.

Self
Oriented
Learning
Environment.

Provide the right environment (questions) and give the right tools (Bible) and people would find answers on their own.

I like stirring up things and challenging status quo, just to test its validity.

Powerful answer come from powerful questions.

Having given all the build up.

Presenting a case for believing demons.

I met two Christians coming out from church. Well with small talk, the conversation went to a question, “do you believe in One God”, one asked.

“Of course”, said the other. I said “Yes, I do”

“Do you believe, Jesus is Son of God?”

“Of course”, said the other.

“Do you confess it with your mouth?” asked the guy.

“Yes, Jesus is the Son of God” said the other.

“Are you a believer?” asked the first guy.

I said, “wait a minute my friend. I know, where you are taking this. Shall I explain?”, I asked him politely. (which would be hard for some of you to believe 😆)

The guy was polite and gentle, “please speak” he said.

I started to speak. “Let me make a case for believing demons.”

The second guy gave me a grin. I said “give me 5 minutes, let me make my case.”

So there was intense silence for a minute. I was flipping through my Bible.

I turned to Mark 1.

Mark 1:23-24 NIV

23 Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, 24 “What do you want with us,Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

I told them, “do you see, the demon, knew who Jesus was. And even confessed. Jesus is the Holy One of God.”

“Even before Jews believed Jesus, the demon knew and confessed”, I continued

Mark 3:11 NIV

11 Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”

“See”, I said, “the unclean spirits and demons confess Jesus is Son of God. So they must be believing demons 🙂 “

“You are crazy”, said the other man.

The man who started the conversation nodded politely and said “continue”

I again started to flip my Bible to James.

James 2:19

19 You believe that there is one God.Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

“The most sarcastic statement. There is mockery here.” I explained.

What did this man ask you in the first place. “Do you believe in One God?”

“Do you believe Jesus is Son of God?”

Both of this demons, do believe, know and confess.

So shall we call them believing demons?” I smiled.

“Oh, I get your point” said the other man, “believing alone doesn’t make you a believer….”, he pointed my Bible and said, “read further down the next verse.”

James 2:20 NIV

20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?

He continued, “do you see, it not only believing that makes you a Christian but deeds. Jesus said in John 8:31,
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples”

“So do you see, it is not just believing but deeds count”, he finished speaking and look deeply at us.

Guys! Wait a minute. The conversation did not end there. I see antennas going up. Legal people would be joyous, here is a case for deeds.

Grace people would rustle, “this is bull shit, a hoax.”

Wait a minute before you jump to any conclusions. The conversation continues and the things that come up, would free us and expand us.

To be continued in Part 2.
