Knowledge?

I walked upto a man. He was sitting down with many books, as if he was doing some research.

I asked him, “Hey, what are you doing?”

He answered,”I want to understand Bible deeper. I seek knowledge.”

I knew, he loved the LORD, so I asked him, “why do you seek knowledge?”

He felt offended, I could see in his eyes, he asked,”why, is it wrong to seek knowledge, I seek knowledge because I should be ready to answer  unbelievers, so I could show them, I could prove them that Bible is true.”

I loved the fact, that he was zealous for the Lord. “Does faith require proof? Or would it be faith anymore, if evidence is presented?”, that is a question for another day, I thought to myself.

I asked, “you are preparing yourself to answer the questions of unbelievers and christians too…”

That seems good. “Now, that you sought knowledge, when a stranger asks you a question, who is going to answer?”, I asked.

He laughed, “You are strange man” he continued “it is I, who is going to answer, see that’s why I prepared with knowledge. It is ‘I’…..”, he stopped at the middle of the sentence.

There was silence. I knew, that he remembered something and was thinking. I kept quiet.

He went through his pile of books. He digged out Bible from midst of it.

He was turning left and right, searching for something.

I said, Luke 12:11.

He turned the pages so loud, he was in hurry to know.

He read the verse loud,

Luke 12:11 King James Version (KJV)

11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

I said, go on read verse 12 as well.

Luke 12:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

Again, a silence, I knew he was processing. He put hands on the desk and said to me, “I should not answer, if I prepare, it is ‘I’ who answers, I should not answer?”

He looked at me with a question. I nodded ‘yes’, and he continued, “so that HE, Holy Spirit can speak through me.”

“Yes”, I hugged him. And left him, as he was sitting staring at the books.

A wonderful man, who learned that day, to depend on God and not to depend on his own knowledge. I love such a man, surrendered, dependent on the LIFE JESUS.

Children, be blessed.

Father, help us know Your will, we summit our will and knowledge. Let Your will come to pass in our life. Your will be done. Help us to hear You, to obey You all the days of our life.

Amen.
