Psalm 37:4 Most important
What do you understand?
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Pretty straightforward right? If you delight in the Lord, He will give you grant you, what you desire?
Most people, and I did interpret that way. It has profound meaning.
I have experienced in my life many times.
Let’s take the word ‘give’ in the verse.
Let us look the Hebrew word.
Original: נתן
Transliteration: nâthan
Phonetic: naw-than’
What is the meaning of this word?
BDB Definition:
to give, put, set
It can be used as
to give or
to put or
to set
So let’s read the verse with new understanding.
the Lord,
and he will set, put the desires of your heart.
Oh, that takes it to whole new level.
It means that as you delight in the Lord, your desire changes. HE puts desires in you.
Your desires change. I have experienced in my life many times, that my desires and thoughts changing. I didn’t do anything to make it change.
I did not desire to live holy. Never said, I should this or I should not that. But desires keep changing as I spend time with Him.
I didn’t seek to change my heart, I sought Him and spent time with Him, and without any effort or me trying, my heart’s desire change in alignment with the Word.
That is exactly what this verse is talking.
Please children, do not look to the left or right. Do not look to your neighbor or pastor, your spouse or children. Dont turn your head anywhere, gaze at the beauty of my LORD, my savior Jesus Christ. Delight in Him.
And you will be surprised by who you become. Because He puts His desire in you.
Children, please spend time in this verse. It is so important that you get this.
Read the verse, one thing is required of you. Choose like Mary. Luke 10:42
Be blessed.
Amen.
