Who are you? Part 3

by | Apr 29, 2020

This is so awesome. Yesterday in Part 2 we saw that temptation was against the identity. And we finished by asking ‘what is the first step in knowing who you are?’

Let us pray before go any further. Father, You are ever willing to speak to us and give us wisdom. We ask for Your wisdom and understanding. Thank you, Jesus.

Jump with me to John 13:3. Jesus is getting up from the table and is going to wash His disciples’ feet. In this verse, John gives the reason. I first saw this in 2013 could have been in July a hot day we were traveling in Deutsche Bahn to Pottenstein. This is awesome.

3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

The reason Jesus rose from the supper and was able to the supper and was able to humble himself was,

  1. He knew what God has given Him. ( it does not say what Jesus had, rather says what God has given Him, that is separate teaching on its own. Think about it)
  2. He knew He came from God.
  3. He knew where He was going.

Source-steward-destination

He knew who He was.

What is the first step to knowing ‘who you are?’

It would be to know where you come from?

Do you think you evolved (came) from apes?

Then Ape is your source. That is your identity. You are a product of an accident. Of course in that case you will imitate your source, an Ape, like a programmed machine acting out the chemical reward feedback loop. (How do we know that, because we program AI on feedback system) You are part of an accidental world.

Hmmm.. I wonder how someone would even start to believe that.

On the other side, do you believe that you came from God? And God created you?

Very well then. That means you have a design and purpose. Now you have the desire to imitate your Creator, God.

Right, very well.
Now tell me ‘Who is God?’.

One claims it is Jesus, and some say other names and some have many.

If you say, you were created by God, then it is not up to you to create God. Rather, to know HIM.

The first step is to know ‘Who is God? What is HIS nature?’

I leave you with that to think, ponder. God willing we shall continue in part 4.

Be blessed my friends in Jesus mighty Name.
Amen
